016: Of Lending a Helping Hand

In 2011, I had the pleasure of working with extraordinary people to start up Project Fearless in Kenya during my gap year. From our humble beginnings (read my other blog for more details), with the grace of God, we managed to help put 5 wonderful students into school.
They are Lewis, Ali, Kirandi, Janet and Rubai.
All of them pictured above with my friend Aljas (the guy with the big smile of the far left) who has been tirelessly taking care of the students whilst I am away.

I still remember being there when we were buying them new uniforms, and registering them into school and now, despite all odds, with God's blessings, 3 of them are in their final year of high school and 2 of them are in Form 3 - all of them doing well and working hard. Alhamdulillah.

To get them through the 2013, I am seeking your kind help.
We need to raise GBP 300/RM 1500 to be able to put all 5 of them into school this year.
Having being blessed enough to see them grow, I know from experience how education can empower the people in Kenya to strive for a better future. So I humbly ask you to donate generously as every penny will help bring them closer to achieving their dreams.

Thank you so much for your time and God bless!

Love,
Ayne

015: RECAP January

This sign is hung near our dining table

I didn't expect this month to go by as fast as it did. But, yeah.
Hello February!

But before that, here are 5 things that happened in January which I'd like my
future self to remember and maybe, even reminisce:

1. We had a Moroccan themed dinner party and we dined to home
cooked couscous and roasted chicken

2. Flat mates and I attempted to jog around Hyde Park.
Successfully stuck for it....for a few times.

3. Went to Chatime and they were out of milk tea! The audacity!

4. Received a lovely and surprising gift from my friend and fellow course mate

5. The Les Miserables fever - started off by watching it on the musical stage.
Then, the movie and then it became a flat-wide craze.

Alhamdulillah :)
