020: A Sudden Snow Storm

oh, beautiful sun. How I miss thee.

Was cycling towards school today. Felt quite peculiar as I felt myself heavily breathing in chilled air. Pain into my lungs. Didn't think much of it until...

BANG!

Snow storm.

Gushes of snow thundered down out of nowhere and I was battling the elements of wind, water and sharp snowflakes. I had to stop cycling because the snow was so strong that I couldn't see, plus I was a bit disoriented. Wiping my glasses clean, I soon found out that I didn't know where the nearest bike dock was so I was in a semi-lost state. But after getting out of a very confused and wet state, I managed to dock my bicycle at Marylebone Station and caught the bus for the remainder of the journey. When I reached school, the snow stopped and what was left were wet floors filled with slush.

Echoing in my head was the words, "Check the forecast next time Ayne!"
But honestly, when I got on my bike, there weren't ANY signs of a snow shower at all! It was cold, but not too cold. It just came all of a sudden and all at once.

Sort of like a mishap or a nasty turn of events. You can plan everything, know everything and prepare for anything, yet life still surprises you with bad days and awful situations. Like I felt today, most people will feel lost in amidst of it but after patience, a little bit of exploring of options and faith, people managed to move forward.

Well, you have to move forward.
Trust me, no one wants to stand still in a snow storm.

019: Technology Dependency

It is unfortunate that the things that are made to connect us to people around us, make us drift further apart. I dont remember sharing half the information that I share now when I was young, and what is worse - nowadays, it is not what you know about a person but what you don't know. I guess this depicts humility in its core. If you are aware that that shared information runs even the slightest risk of boosting your ego, you would share a lot less information.

Next time, try when experiencing something magnificent, instead of taking a picture to post on Instagram or Facebook, take a second and just experience it. I bet you you will notice the difference :)

Life is too short to impress people that you don't like.

018: Random Research: TV and sperm count

Sedentary spermicide—Watching television for more than 20 hours a week is associated with half the normal sperm count, says research from the Harvard School of Public health, Boston, US. In the study, 189 men aged 18-22 years had their semen analysed to investigate the quality of their sperm. They were also questioned on the amount of exercise they did and how much time they had spent watching television over the preceding three months. Those who spent an average of 20 hours a week watching television had sperm counts that were 44% less than did those who watched half the amount.
